India to grant visa to Pakistani envoy NEW DELHI, Feb 17 (AFP) - India will grant a visa to Pakistan's acting High Commissioner after Islamabad's top envoy was expelled allegedly for funding separatists, Foreign Minister Yashwant Sinha said Monday. "We will give a visa to the new Pakistani Deputy High Commissioner on Tuesday," he told reporters. Sinha added that he was hopeful Pakistan would reciprocate by granting a visa to India's acting High Commissioner in Islamabad. India and Pakistan engaged in tit-for-tat expulsions of diplomats after Pakistan's top envoy to its arch-rival was accused of giving funds to militants fighting Indian rule in Kashmir. |
