Govt-LTTE MoU: Elaborate programme to celebrate first anniversary The People's Peace Front (PPF) in collaboration with several non-governmental organisations has planned an elaborate programme to celebrate the first anniversary of the Government-LTTE MoU on Saturday and portray the people's movement dedicated to peace. Milton A. Perera and M. S. Selvendran, joint secretaries of the PPF said the programme will include the display of 100,000 special flags in houses, streets, vehicles, shops and state and private sector institutions throughout the country and the distribution of 20,000 hand bills opposite the Colombo Fort Railway Station on this day to commemorate the event. Banners will also be displayed in Colombo and outstations while press advertisements and radio programmes will also be carried out highlighting the achievements made and the progress towards peace in the year gone by without the war. They said more than 150 organisations have pledged their support towards this programme.
