Series of religious activities to mark Lake House Founder's Day

The Bambalapitiya Vajirarama Karyasadhaka Sabha, has made arrangements to conduct a series of social and religious activities at the Vajiraramaya Temple, Bambalapitiya, on February 23, to commemorate the 117th berth anniversary of late D. R. Wijewardene, the Founder of Lake House.

The proceedings will begin with a "pahan pooja" at 6 p.m. followed by an "Atavisi Buddhapooja" at 6.30 p.m. conducted by Ven. Dikwelle Mahinda Thera of the Vajiraramaya and Ven.Kamburugamuwe Mahanaga Thera, the Principal of Vajirarama Dhamma School.Thereafter school books will be distributed among 117 schoolchildren under the aegis of Colombo West Buddhist Association Vice President Sarath Karunaweera, Justice of the Peace.

The commemorative ceremony is organized jointly by the Vajirarama Dayaka Sabha, the Vajirarama Dhamma School and the Colombo West Buddhist Association.
