All set for SLIM awards ceremony on March 1

The judging for the 13th annual SLIM Awards has been now completed and the grand event will be held on March 1 from 6 30 p.m. at the Sri Lanka Exhibition and Convention Centre.

According to the Chairperson awards Sub Committee, Thusitha Kumarakulasingham the two Indian Judges have returned after approving the final selections.

The Chairperson said that they were very happy with the response they received for the 'creative graveyard' awards scheme. "We have got many entries for this," she said.

She said that this scheme has been introduced in a bid to pay tribute to product advertisements and creations of publishing houses, which have been rejected by their clients. In addition to this event which there will be 145 Awards, including four grand awards for the Best TV, Radio and Print Ads and the Campaign of the Year at the awards ceremony.

The event is being conducted by the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing in association with the Four A's (Accredited Advertising Agencies Association)and the Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Ltd, being the official newspaper.

The media partners for the SLIM awards are Rupavahini, ANCL, Sun FM and Sha FM. The co-partners for the event are Graphitec, Business Today, SLECC,SriLankan Airlines, Sign-Tech, Swedish Trading, Trans Asia Hotel ACNIelsen.

Minister of Trade and Commerce Ravi Karunanayake the Guest of honour at this event on March 1, will present the 'Agency of the year', which will be awarded on the basis of the total quality of awards won by each agency.
