Johnston Fernando disappointed

by Sampath Bandara

The Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Johnston Fernando said that he was extremely disturbed and disappointed after learning that the former President of the Football Federation of Sri Lanka and the present vice president of the Asian Football Confederation Manilal Fernando had tendered his resignation from all office that he is holding in the FFSL.

The Minister said that Manilal Fernando's services are badly needed by Sri Lankan football and he is one person that cannot be easily replaced.

The Minister added that Fernando had even utilised his own funds and resources for the uplift of the game in Sri Lanka.

The Minister hoped that Fernando would overcome the challenges and all barriers and change his mind soon for the benefit of the game in Sri Lanka.
