Manilal seeks legal action

Former President of the Football Federation of Sri Lanka (FFSL) and the present vice president of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Manilal Fernando said that he would seek legal action against wild allegations made against him to discredit his name.

Fernando said that a certain section of the media has been continuously publishing articles criticising him without any valid reasons.

Fernando said that he has been involved in the field of law for over 31 years and his father too has been a leading lawyer in the country. "The people in Kalutara and the football players in this country will know better how much I have done for the game in the past few years," said Fernando. (SB)
