Epson targets 15% market share in 2003

"Epson which has achieved the highest technology with its research and development will continue to produce more unique and innovative products" said Minoru Usui, Director and Deputy Chief Executive Imaging and Information products Operation division, Seiko Epson Corporation at EPSON Regional press conference at Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore last week.

Usui, the key speaker of the conference said that today we are re-entering the market with all-in-one product bringing perfection to printing and imaging technology thus increasing the quality of life.

The theme of the conference was "Epson Delivering Tomorrow's Imaging Solutions Today".

The delegates of Epson dealer countries, IT journalists from South Asia and South East Asian countries and others attended the conference. Moiz Najmudden, Managing Director of DEBUG Computer represented Sri Lanka at the event.

Kazaunori Aoki, Assistant Director, IT Products Division Epson Singapore outlined the unique aspects of their products.

He also emphasised the desire to achieve 15% market share in 2003 and 25% market share by 2004. Epson in its efforts to introduce perfect ink technology launched DURABrite and Ultra Chrome pegiments inks for their inkjet printers. The new ink is expected to offer rich colours with much highlight.

Full colour border free printing and copying are some of the facilities offered by these two products. Epson Stylus C82 is another novel product with the ability to print 22 pages per minute. Epson Stylus Photo 900 printer will take the credit for providing facilities to print directly on CD and DVD platters. Epson Perfection 3200 Photo Scanner is also another innovative product.

They will also integrate Multiple Digital Photo Printing Solutions in to a Single Strategic Initiative "The Epson Digital photo Link". The new initiative is to facilitate a distribute-and-print and print-and-distribute digital photo culture.

Epson Singapore is the South Asia sales and marketing headquarters for Seiko Epson Corporation. The company also markets and supports Epson printers, scanners, LCD multimedia projectors, digital cameras and other high-technology products in more than ten countries in South Asia and the Indian Subcontinent.
