Rusty, Maria Rodriguez de Macias’ pet, awaits in vain amid the ruins of their home for her mistress’s return, in Colima, Mexico, 22 January 2003. Maria, unable to leave her house due to her old age, was killed in the previous night’s earthquake and buried with Rusty when the structure collapsed. 

Pakistan furious at Indian defence deals with Russia

Pakistan lashed out Wednesday at India's new deal with Russia to purchase nuclear-capable submarines and bombers, accusing it of "recklessly" amassing weapons and intimidating its neighbours."Fired by its ambition to attain great power status, India has chosen the reckless path of militarisation," foreign ministry spokesman Aziz Ahmed Khan said in a statement.
