from S. M. Jiffrey Abdeen , Kandy Sports Correspondent

Kirkoswald Group, Bogowantalawa, set up an all-time record price for a Dickoya Flowery Broken Orange Pekoe (FBOP) when it sold a line of this grade of tea for Rs. 367 a kilogramme at the tea auctions held on January 13 and 14.

The Kirkoswald Group at an elevation 4,500 ft. above sea level has been performing extremely well in the past and has regularly obtained top prices particularly for Dust grade of tea. Asia Siyaka Commoddities Private Ltd. in its Weekly Tea Update states "Kirkoswald Group capped an extended period of high prices for the speciality teas with a record price of Rs. 367 for a FBOP grade.
