It should be preserved and this is our bounden duty and responsibility, said Central Province Development Minister Tissa Attanayake. He was addressing a public gathering at Hasalaka on his visit to an industrial centre where bamboo interlaced with wood is used in making beautiful artifacts. The Minister said our creative talents should not be allowed to perish. This is our heritage. Kandy area is a reservoir of such talents. These talents should be used by them for their progress and the economic growth of our country. The Central Development Ministry has already planned to find a ready market for their products. These products will be displayed at Tourist Board Centres and even at foreign missions. I have spoken to Laksala. They are eager to have them, said the Minister. |
