The Halwitigala tea factory on the foot hills of the Singha Raja forest in Hinidum Pattu, a factory managed by the Tea Smallholder Factories Limited will manufacture main grade tea in keeping with high hygenic quality standards. During the last few years the factory has shown vast progress producing main grade tea such as excellent BOPF special, FBOPF, FBOPFEXS, FBOPI, BOPI and OPI. The Halwitigala factory down south attracts a large number of foreign buyers mainly because of its quality and the standards maintained throughout the season. Cut down holidays drastically, say Trade Chambers

Frontline Trade Chambers yesterday called upon the government to drastically cut down the number of holidays prevalent in the country, which they believed were a deterrent to controlling production costs and increasing export competitiveness.
