Bhikkus duty-bound to impart Dhamma education - Venerable Thera

"It is high time that all of us evolved a common program in order to make a qualitative development in the Dhamma knowledge among our people," said Venerable Botale Rahula Thera, Viharadhipathi Sri Bodhimangalaramaya, Pattalagedera, Veyangoda at the foundation stone laying ceremony for a library to be built by Pattalagedera Gemunu Suba Sadaka Samithiya.

Gampaha District MP Panduka Bandaranayake, laid the foundation stone opening of a community hall and the distribution of Dhamma school books among students and teachers also took place.

A message sent by President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga appreciating the services of the Pattalagedara Gemunu Suba Sadaka Samithiya was read by MP Panduka Bandaranayake.

Venerable Rahula Thera said, bhikkus are duty-bound to impart Dhamma school education the aim of which is to create a disciplined and virtuous society. Western Provincial Minister Lasantha Alagiyawanna, R. D. D. Jayawardena, J.P. and Sudarman Kasturiarachchi also spoke.
