Youhana strikes half century for Pakistan PAARL, South Africa,Monday (Reuters) Yousuf Youhana struck his 23rd half-century as Pakistan battled to 213 all out from 48.4 overs in the fourth one-day international against South Africa on Monday. Youhana was eighth out, the victim of a direct hit from Jonty Rhodes racing in from point after a mix-up with Saqlain Mushtaq. He had made 61 from 71 balls with two fours and a six. After winning the toss and deciding to bat first, Pakistan made a good start, opening pair Kamran Akmal and Salim Elahi putting on 54 for the first wicket before Akmal played around a straight one from Makhaya Ntini and was bowled for 31. Allan Donald then struck to remove Abdul Razzaq lbw for five and Elahi followed in the next over, lbw to Jacques Kallis for 26 to leave Pakistan 67 for three. Youhana and Inzamam-ul-Haq added 52 for the fourth wicket, hitting just two boundaries in the process, before Inzamam was also trapped lbw for 34, this time by slow left-armer Robin Peterson. Wicketkeeper Mark Boucher's catch to dismiss Younis Khan off Ntnini for 20 was his 200th dismissal in one-day cricket and Boucher was in action shortly afterwards, collecting Boeta Dippenaar's throw from the deep to run out Faisal Iqbal for nine as he and Youhana attempted a risky second run. |
