Opp. Leader refutes Lakmina report

Opposition Leader Mahinda Rajapakse referring to a news item in the Sunday Lakmina newspaper said there is no one in the PA who wants to assassinate President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga.

He said this newspaper is bent on dividing the party. It also encourages those who want to break up the party, he added.

Contacted by the Daily News, Opposition Leader Rajapakse said yesterday he does not want to make any other comment on the "Lakmina rag sheet" and urge a CID inquiry into this news item.
