Ceylon Cold Stores soft drinks in cans

Ceylon Cold Stores Ltd, (CCS), the pioneers in the carbonated Soft-drinks business in Sri Lanka, recently launched four of their firm family favourites to the Elephant Soft-drinks range, namely: Cream Soda, Soda, Dry-Ginger-ale and Tonic, in 325 ml. aluminum cans to the local market.

Managing Director-CCS and Director John Keells Holdings, Sumithra Gunasekara makes the presentation to Chairman, Tourist Board Paddy Withana.

A presentation of the new style, Elephant Soft-drinks was made by Sumithra Gunasekera, Managing Director of CCS, and Director John Keells Holdings to Paddy Withana, Chairman, Sri Lanka Tourist Board at the launch. The decision by CCS to market soft-drinks in cans was in response to a request made by the Hotel Industry.

With the anticipated increase in tourist arrivals as a result of the ongoing peace process showing positive results, Elephant Soft-drinks in cans will now be made available in the mini bars in all tourist hotels, making these products coveninetly available to the guests and a convenient package for handing storage in the hotels as well. Apart from the Tourist Hotels and restaurants, Elephant Soft-drinks cans will be made available in all supermarkets, A-Grade outlets, cinemas, and at bars. CCS has already had a positive response to their newest introduction.

According to surveys conducted by CCS, it was found that the use of cans are a trend of the future on account of convenience, especially for travellers. With the change in lifestyles and busy working schedules, long weekends are much looked forward to by holiday-makers and pilgrims, and the introduction of Elephant Soft-drinks in cans will be the preferred choice to this category of consumers, who can now conveniently carry their favourite Soft-drinks, without any hassle.

With CCS foray into the canned Soft-drinks market, the company is confident of further increasing their market share of over 50% with this latest venture.
