Amidst conditions that were near perfect with bright clear blue skies and strong winds prevailing, veteran sailor Joseph Kenny sailed on to win the Mobil Cup at last Sunday's sailing regatta held at the Ceylon Motor Yacht Club, Bolgoda. Sixteen boats took part in the Bod Class event, manoeuvred by a helmsmen single handed. Two seasoned campaigners were disqualified in having a premature start whilst another failed to finish the '90' minute course. The regatta was sponsored by Mobil with Managing Director of the Company Trevor Reckerman giving away the prizes.

The next sailing regatta on Bolgoda Lake will be held on Sunday 1st December. It will be for the Navy Cup organised by YASL and sponsored by the Navy.
