Govt. presents White Paper 'Regaining Sri Lanka' : More funds to pour in for development

The international community will pour in funds for the development of Sri Lanka as long as it stays on course to find a lasting solution to the conflict based upon the renunciation of violence, respect for democracy and human rights, the countries attending the Peace Support conference in the Norwegian capital Oslo said on Monday night.

US will play its part for peace in Sri Lanka - Armitage

Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage attended the Sri Lanka Donors' Conference in Oslo, Norway and pledged that the United States "stands ready to play its part" towards implementing the peace agreement between the Sri Lankan Government and the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam, states a US Embassy press release.

Fatal attack on J'pura student One more suspect identified

One suspect was identified yesterday at the identification parade held by the Gangodavila Magistrate and Additional District Judge Pradeep Hettiarachchi in connection with the Samantha Vithanage killing. Nine suspects have so far been identified.
