Britain pledges Sterling Pounds 8 million for North-East next year The British Government has pledged an additional 8 million sterling
pounds for rebuilding the war ravaged areas of the North-East.The
announcement was made following the current Oslo Peace Support conference
by UK Secretary of State for International Development, Clare Short.
Britain has already committed a sum of 9.4 million sterling pounds-2.6
million to quick impact projects and 6.8 million for longstanding
programmes to assist internally displaced people - towards rehabilitation
