The Table Tennis Association of Sri Lanka have decided to send a team comprising both men and women for the 16th Asian Table Tennis championships to be held from February 22 to 28 next year in Bangkok, Thailand.

The selection for this tournament will be done after considering the players performances at the two trials which will be conducted by the Table Tennis Association of Sri Lanka with the watchful eyes of the selection committee. The first trials will be held on December 1 and the second trials will be held on December 8 both at S. Thomas' College indoor Stadium, Mount Lavinia commencing at 9.00 a.m.

The players competing in the trials are: (men) - Thilina Piyadasa, K. S. T. Chalitha, Indika Prasad, Rohan Sirisena, Nuwan Sampath, B. N. B. Jayasinghe, Tharindu Samaraweera, Dinesh Deshappriya, Chatura Dushan, B. C. Chaturanga, K. S. T. Lakshan, I. T. Gunapala. (Women) - Deepika Rodrigo, Kalpani Herath, Dilini Madawala, Saranga de Silva, Rifkha Kameel, M. Prajangani, M. Kottegoda, P. Dilrukshi, Namal Gunasekera, N. K. Udugama, Lakshmi Basnayake, Wasana Sandareka. (C.D.)

TT tourney

The Inter Community Centre table tennis championships 2002 conducted by the Playground and Recreation Department of the Colombo Municipal Council will be held on December 7 at Reid Avenue under the supervision of Mrs.

Uthra Piyasena senior supervisor Playground Department.

The entries for this tournament close on November 30.
