First consignment of TV meters under testing in Lanka Lanka Market Research Bureau Ltd. (LMRB) said that the first consignment of its TV meters had arrived in Sri Lanka and these are undergoing field trials in Sri Lanka. This fulfils the promise that LMRB had made to its clients earlier regarding the availability of TV Ratings beginning January 2003 using PeopleMeters. At a meeting of the Executive Committee of the 4A's recently Kenneth Honter, Chairman of the 4A's, said: "We welcome LMRB's proposal for partnership with the 4A's. The time is ripe to have a TV Ratings service in Sri Lanka. The new service uses state of the art technology and has been developed keeping in mind our specific needs and our local environment", he said. Hemant Mehta, Vice President, Kantar Market Research Services, reported on the progress of this project and its implementation. The field trials are currently in progress and the selection of potential Panel homes from the TV Establishment Survey is being done. The industry standard LMRB's National Media Survey would be used to estimate the TV universe and for extrapolating the findings from the panel. He added that the results from the new PeopleMeter panel would be released in January 2003. |
