Seminar on peace and reconciliation

The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka in a press release titled peace and reconciliation states: "Twenty years of conflict at considerable loss of human life and human resources, deprivation and poverty has placed Sri Lanka among the poorest of nations. Our aspirations of being the economic hub of South Asia has faded to a distant future.

In this scenario peace and reconciliation are of paramount importance if we are to bring quality of life to all our people. The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka in its efforts to facilitate the peace process has been actively engaged in building a north-south dialogue through the business community, states chambers secretary general Neil Seneviratne.

'Friedrich Naumann Stiftung is a staunch believer that people's participation is essential for sustaining peace.

The FNSt carries out islandwide confidence building measures with this objective in mind". As such the NCCSL in association with the Friedrich Naumann Stiftung is now organising a seminar on "Peace and Reconciliation".

The objective of this seminar is to give an opportunity for the educated public to discuss this important matter in an open and transparent manner. President's Counsel S. L.
