The SLMM Chief during his weekend visit to Ampara, Batticaloa and Trincomalee met the Army, Air Force, Police and LTTE hierarchy in the area to discuss calming down tensions. A meeting between the STF area commander and Karuna is planned, the spokesman said adding that the SLMM was now waiting for a date from Karuna. He said the SLMM is working to establish "direct communications and close cooperation" between the STF and the LTTE.
