The President's office said the President on several instances had drawn the attention of the Prime Minister, Defence Minister and Minister of Finance on harassment of the Muslims by the LTTE, especially with regard to imposition of unlawful taxes, abductions and ransom demands after the MOU was signed with the LTTE. It says that the Muslims have expressed fears to the President about the fate of their community if and when the North -East is brought under the control of the LTTE . |
