News Business Features Editorial Security Politics World Letters Sports Obituaries | President's views on Govt. policy document next week by Chatura Vidyaratne Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe handed over the Government's new policy document to President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga at a meeting at President's House yesterday. It was agreed that the President would convey her views on the document by next week. The Premier also agreed to brief the President before and after all future peace talks as and when they occur. The re-organisation of the Armed forces also figured in yesterday's meeting. The Prime Minister was accompanied by Minister of Economic Reforms, Science and Technology Milinda Moragoda and Defence Minister Tilak Marapana. Minister Marapana also briefed the President on the Akkaraipattu incident. The meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere, sources at the Prime Minister's Office said. |
