by Sarath Malalasekera The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) yesterday took over investigations into an incident at the Parliament Complex where a young girl had tried to gain entry to Parliament without proper accreditation on Wednesday morning. The Director CID yesterday deployed a special investigating team on the directive of IGP T.E. Anandarajah. Chief Inspector R.L. Chandrasiri, OIC, Welikada Police produced the suspect before the Colombo Additional Magistrate J. Ranjith Dissanayake who remanded her till october 24. Investigations also revealed that the suspect girl had entered Parliament on three previous occasions. She had an identity card of an electronic media organisation of which she is not an employee. She had told police that she was a student attached to the Kelaniya University and living in Dikwella, Matara. |
