KFC goes to Ja-ela and Kandy

KFC recently opened two new outlets in Ja-ela and Kandy, which makes them the first international chain to go beyond Colombo. The Kandy outlet was opened by the Mayor of Kandy Kesara Senanayake. Both locations have been carefully selected for their ideal access and each has many value added features for customers.

The Ja-ela outlet in a two-storied establishment that overlooks Ja-Ela, has a capacity for 100 patrons with seating for 85 upstairs. It is on the Colombo-Airport Highway close to the Ja-ela junction. A special feature at the Ja-ela restaurant is the special ripple ice-cream machine, the first of its kind for KFC in Sri Lanka.

The Kandy KFC restaurant has the capacity to seat 100 and is at the centre of the town in the Cargills building - a well-known Kandy landmark for many years. KFC's Kandy outlet has a special Kids area with neon lights and extensive wall decor.

The globally renowned Kentucky Fried Chicken or "KFC" as it is now known around the world, entered the Sri Lankan market in 1996 bringing the famous taste of KFC, prepared with the legendary Colonel Sanders' secret blend of herbs and spices to Sri Lanka. Sri Lankans have joined the 6.5 million people who make KFC a part of their day to day lives.

Today, KFC's family style food is available to the chicken loving public from their well-known outlets at Majestic City (Bambalapitiya) and Access Towers (Union Place) to their most recent outlets in Ja-ela and Kandy. As the ever-increasing demand for quick service meals reaches an extreme high in today's fast paced lifestyle, KFC now offers Sri Lankans the opportunity to enjoy quality chicken meals that are so well accepted that KFC can proudly say "We Do Chicken Right". They are prepared true to traditional form based strictly on a mouth-watering secret recipe perfected by the Colonel himself over four decades ago.
