SAISA swimming meet from October 27 to 29 by our Maharagama special correspondent The swimming meet 2002 conducted by the South Asian International Schools Association (SAISA) will be held on October 27, 28 and 29th at the Overseas International School of Colombo, Pelawatte, Battaramulla, swimming pool. 151 competitors from Pakistan, India, Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka International Schools will participate in the competition. The co-ordinator of the Overseas School of Colombo of Social Service Activities Karu Gamage told the Daily News. The students of the school will accommodate the foreign swimmers in their houses and teachers and coaches who come from other countries will be accommodated in the local teachers houses. "This is a swimming sports festival which builds friendship among the youths in the South Asia region and also it will be a trial for the global village concept," the sports director of the school, Grig Hues said. The awards presentation of the competition will be held on October 29 evening under the patronage of the principal of the school Prof. Peter Gittins. |
