REDI-to-Wear Distributors' conference EDIasia Limited will hold its 2002 Conference for Distributors of REDI-to-Wear product at the Mount Lavinia Hotel from November 4 to 7. John Sanders, Chief Executive of EDIasia Limited, said "We chose Sri Lanka partly because of its key position to our company and also its continued position as a centre of textile and garment manufacturing excellence in Asia". Ravi Karunanayake, Minister of Commerce and Consumer Affairs will be the chief guest. Minister Karunanayake will meet delegates from Bangladesh, China, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Pakistan, Philippines, Thailand and the United Kingdom as well as representatives of the local REDI-to-Wear Distributors - E Trade (Pvt) Limited, a company press release said. REDI-to-Wear is Business-to-Business Electronic Commerce software that enables textile and garment manufacturers in Asia to exchange order and shipping information with their overseas buyers. It is installed in almost 300 offices and factories around Asia including fifty of the more important manufacturing units in Sri Lanka. The conference will feature a variety of presentations from EDIasia staff, their distributors around Asia and a number of guest speakers. |
