Two Pt. Pedro schools reopen

Hartley College and Methodist College, Point Pedro which were temporarily closed last week following the tense situation in the area were reopened yesterday.

All students and staff had been assured full security by the Security Forces for the smooth conduct of educational activities, defence sources said.

Meanwhile, a civilian admitted to the Jaffna hospital on September 7 with gunshot injuries told Military Police that he was shot by an LTTE cadre in Army uniform, the sources said yesterday.

S. Illaithambi of Perumal Kavadi, Alaveddi South, Alaveddi in his statement to Military Police said he was shot by an LTTE gunman in khaki uniform similar to that of the Army.

Jaffna Police are investigating.
