Tens of thousands of people from all parts of the country converged on to the Town Hall grounds in Colombo yesterday in a show of support for peace and democracy in a demonstration led by the governing United National Front.

Rubber Corp. fraud : CID seeks AG's advice to quiz Ratnasiri

The Criminal Investigation Department probing the alleged massive fraud at the Sri Lanka Rubber Manufacturing and Export Corporation filing a further report yesterday before the Colombo Fort Magistrate and Additional District Judge Priyantha Fernando said that a colossal amount of money had been released to the Corporation by the Treasary on the direction of former Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wickremanayake.
