Felicitations to Moldova

The following felicitation messages had been sent by the President, Prime Minister and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka to Vladimir Voronin - President, Vasili Tarlev - Prime Minister and Nikolay Dudau, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova on the occasion of the National Day which fell on 27th August.

President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga in a message to His Excellency Vladimir Voronin, President of the Republic of Moldova states:

"The people and the Government of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka join me in extending to Your Excellency and through you to the people and the Government of the Republic of Moldova, our sincere greetings and warm felicitations on the happy occasion of the National Day of the Republic of Moldova.

It is my fervent desire that our friendly relations will be further consolidated and expanded in new areas of co-operation for the mutual benefit of our two peoples in years ahead.

Please accept, your Excellency, my sincere good wishes for your health, happiness and personal well-being and for the peace and prosperity of the Republic of Maldova". Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe in a message to His Excellency Vasili Tarlev, Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova states:

"It gives me great pleasure to convey to Your Excellency, my sincere felicitations and good wishes on the happy occasion of the National Day of the Republic of Moldova.

Relations between Moldova and Sri Lanka are characterised by close friendship and mutual goodwill. It is my earnest desire that our friendly relations will be enhanced and further strengthened in the coming years.

I take this opportunity to convey to Your Excellency, my personal good wishes for your health, happiness and personal well-being".

Minister of Foreign Affairs Tyronne Fernando, P.C., M.P. in a message to His Excellency Nikolay Dudau, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova states:

"It is with much pleasure that I extend to you my sincere best wishes and warm felicitations on the happy occasion of the National Day of the Republic of Moldova. I am certain that the common bonds of friendship and good relations that exist between Sri Lanka and Moldova will continue to be further strengthened for the well-being of our two peoples in the years to come.

Please accept, Excellency, my sincere good wishes for your health, happiness and personal well-being".
