Acting IGP

Interior Ministry Secretary M.N. Junaid yesterday informed K. Balapatabendi, Secretary to President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga that Senior DIG T. E. Anandarajah has been appointed as the Acting Inspector General of Police following the death of IGP Lucky Kodituwakku. Meanwhile IGP Lucky Kodituwakku's funeral procession will leave Wijerama Mawatha today at 2.30 p.m. for religious ceremonies to be held at the Bauddhaloka Mawatha Church.

The Funeral will take place at the General Cemetery, Kanatte at 4 p.m. with full Police honours. 600 policemen and 600 officers of the three Forces will attend the funeral. DIG Punnya de Silva will conduct the police honours while the Acting IGP T. E. Anandarajah will be incharge of the funeral arrangements.

All old boys of St. Joseph's College, Colombo are requested to assemble at the entrance to the General Cemetery, Borella at 4 p.m. today to participate at IGP Lucky Kodituwakku's funeral. (SM)
