by Hambantota special correspondent The Hambantota district office of the Southern Development Authority has taken steps to initiate job-oriented vocational training programs for the rural women of the Hambantota district to enhance their income by initiating self-employment projects. The program implemented on the instructions of the Minister of Southern Region Development Ananda Kularatna, will cover the course areas of sewing, fabric painting, beauty culture, patch work, etc. The course will be conducted once a week for six months. At the end of the course the participants will be awarded a recognised certificate and directed to self-employment ventures. A meeting on this program, was held under the patronage of the Government Agent, Hambantota Ananda Amarathunga to educate the divisional secretaries of the Hambantota district, at the Chief Minister's office, Hambantota, recently. District Director of SDA, Hambantota W. Wijerathna was present. |
