by Trincomalee correspondent Minister of Health, Nutrition and Welfare P. Dayaratne will open several new buildings set up at medical institutions in Trincomalee district on July 5 and 6. On July 5 the Minister will open the newly built operation theatre complex with an intensive care unit (ICU) and four consultant quarters at the Kantale base hospital built by the North East Provincial Health Ministry at a cost of Rs. 70m. He will also inspect the Muttur district hospital and in the afternoon will open a maternity home at the Seruwila Central dispensary. This building has been set up by Ven. Mundigala Mahinda with financial assistance from the Army and the police and donated to the provincial health department. On 6th the Minister will unveil the nameboard of the upgraded Trincomalee General Hospital and open a two storeyed building consisting of six family quarters for medical officers attached to the General Hospital Trincomalee. This building cost of Rs. 10 m. |
