The replica of the Sanchi Stupa of India erected at the Gam Udawa premises in 1993 by President Ranasinghe Premadasa had been neglected for the last nine years. It has been renovated recently and kept under the care of Mihintale Rajamaha Viharaya. Police to put brakes on errant drivers

Police have launched an islandwide clampdown on errant drivers in the aftermath of a spate of fatal accidents which have claimed over 15 lives in just one week.

Independent Commission to probe Kayts incident

Minister orders crackdown on drug traffickers

Minister of Interior John Amaratunga opening a Rehabilitation Centre for Drug Offenders at Boossa on Monday issued a strong directive to all law enforcement officers to nab drug traffickers and kingpins in order to effectively tackle drug abuse.
