KLM, Carsons celebrate 40th anniversary in Sri Lanka KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and Carsons are celebrating 40 years of operation in Sri Lanka this year. All these 40 years KLM has been represented by Carsons Cumberbatch and Co. as their General Sales Agent, currently under the leadership of General Manager Deannath Kulatunge. This important milestone was celebrated at the Barefoot Garden Cafe, in the presence of the Management of Carsons and KLM and the top travel agents for KLM in Colombo. Although KLM does not fly to Colombo now, the airline maintains a strong market positions in the air traffic to Europe and North America, via its online Gulf stations such as Dubai and Kuwait. The KLM passengers are conveniently transported to the Gulf by SriLankan. Vincent Knoops, KLM's General Manager for The Gulf, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and The Maldives, expressed his appreciation for the excellent cooperation between the GSA and KLM and also thanked the trade partners for the excellent sales results. Carsons, a diversified blue chip conglomerate was established in 1860 with its main lines of business in beer, real estate, investments, plantations and leisure comprising hotels and airline representation. They are a regional holding company with substantial business interests in Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and India. KLM Management feels privileged to have the airline represented in Sri Lanka by the prestigious Carsons Group, headed by Hari and Mano Selvanathan. |
