Regional Kodak workshop in Colombo

Sri Lanka was the venue for a regional workshop on service, support, and quality monitoring aimed at Quality Engineers conducted by Kodak recently.

"Kodak has clearly identified the need to constantly improve its service and support levels to the Kodak Express chain, which is in effect its point of interaction with the customer" said Country Business Manager Kodak Sri Lanka, Graham Marshall.

The workshop was conducted by National Manager Quality and Training Kodak India, Rakesh Kocchar, while General Manager Service and Support Kodak South West Asia cluster, Mohammed Farooqui also addressed the participants and visited the local market. Mr. Farooqui said that Kodak had already begun its drive in this direction by training engineers in key areas such as Digital Technology, Quality Monitoring of Prints, and the maintenance of Analogue and Digital Minilabs, which were all key areas. Farooqui also said that customer interaction skills were of paramount importance and due emphasis would be placed on this aspect when training service and support personnel.

The workshop was conducted over three-and-a-half days with over 15 representatives participating from five countries, namely Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Maldives.

With Kodak's Sri Lanka market share being approximately over 50%, Sri Lanka has become an increasingly important player within the Kodak operations. Being one of the South West Asia cluster countries which include Nepal, Bhutan, India, Pakistan and Bangladesh, Sri Lanka has one of the largest market shares within this group. "Having achieved such a significant market share for Kodak, Sri Lanka will be the chosen venue for many more such workshops and conferences, as not only is the country's infrastructure far superior to that of any other within the region, but Sri Lanka is also looked upon as a fast growing regional business hub", Mr. Farooqui said.
