LTTE ready to give up Eelam if acceptable solution given

The LTTE is prepared to seriously consider renouncing the armed struggle for Eelam if a solution acceptable to the Tamil people is put forward, said Velupillai Prabhakaran, the leader of the LTTE addressing a packed press conference attended by over 200 local and foreign media personnel yesterday.

Monitoring Mission accepts LTTE violated ceasefire

Head of Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission Major General Trond Furohovde has accepted that the LTTE has violated clause 2:10 of the Ceasefire Agreement between the Government and the LTTE by refusing to allow free movement of passenger transport along the Omanthai Muhamalai stretch of the A9 road that was opened on Monday.
