SriLankan to explore Jaffna flights

On the request of the Government of Sri Lanka (GOSL), the SriLankan Airlines technical team is to visit Jaffna today with officials of the office of the Director General of Civil Aviation to assess the possibility of recommencing domestic air services to Jaffna.

SriLankan's Chief Executive Officer, Peter Hill says, "All of us at SriLankan are very excited at the prospect of operating to Jaffna. This will be a major step in improving access to the north of the country and will establish close links between the north and the rest of the country as never before," in a press release issued yesterday.
