The national question and the roles of doubters, opponents and foreigners by Prof. C. Suriyakumaran On the promise, to be brief, all three component elements -
government, insurgents, and people - are all of one frame and
determination. On the last, as it happened, having just returned from a
special national level meeting at Trincomalee, what with enough time to
get around, there was simply and absolutely no doubt as to the people's
unequivocal, complete desire for an arrangement for lasting peace, and
confidence that, this time, between the Government and the LTTE, this
would emerge. It is a time therefore also for all concerned to contribute
with truly substantive ideas and thinking on the final contents of
resolution on the national question in particular, and to help both sides
in negotiations in "A frame of thinking" that perhaps today is
