Sanghamitta girls for Japan

Eight girls from Sanghamitta College, Galle have been selected to make a ten day tour in Japan. This tour is initiated by Only One World Organisation in Sri Lanka in order to give an understanding of the Japanese culture, language, literature customs and traditions.

Only One World is an NGO functioning under the Japan-Sri Lanka Friendship Foundation.

Eight Japanese have volunteered to provide accommodation and other facilities to the visiting students while the air fare is to be borne by Only One World Organisation. The students are expected to leave for Japan in May.

Only One World has lent a helping hand to eighty needy students from selected schools in Galle, Matara, Kegalle, Attanagalla, Veyangoda, Divulapitiya and Medawachchiya to continue education by introducing a scholarship program.

The Chairperson of Only One World Mrs. Damini Basnayake revealed that in addition to the above activities, the organisation is engaged in providing equipment much in demand to national hospitals.
