Up to 30 feared dead in Indian train attack AHMEDABAD, India, Feb 27 (AFP) - As many as 30 people were feared to have been killed Wednesday after an express train carrying Hindu activists was stoned and set on fire by a mob in a Muslim-dominated area of India's Gujarat state, a senior local official said. "It would seem that between 25 and 30 people may have died," Jayanti Ravi, chief administrator of Panchamal district where the attack took place, told AFP after visiting the scene. "We entered the train and there were charred bodies everywhere. The first priority is to get the situation under control," she said. |
