Tamil Schools Sports Association in UK By our Batticaloa Roving correspondent The Old Boys Association from 42 leading Tamil Schools form Sri Lanka have formed a Tamil Schools Sports Association in the United Kingdom (TSSA-UK). This Association was first inaugurated in the UK in 1992 by 12 past students from eight leading Tamil Schools from the Jaffna Peninsula under the name of Jaffna Schools Sports Association (JSSA). This Association celebrates its 10th Anniversary and souvenir too published recently with the aim of expanding its scope of activities by encircling more Tamil Schools in Sri Lanka under the banner of Tamil Schools Sports Association. The London based past students of St. Michael's College, Batticaloa, Selvarajah Ratnajothy is the current President of this Federation who is its elected President consecutively for two years. N. Srigangatharan, past student of Mahajana College & Mr. K.S. Satkunaseelan of Nadeswara College have been elected as Secretary and Treasurer respectively for the current year. This organisation which was originally inaugurated to cater to the upliftment of Cricket has now expanded its activities to give a boost for the promotion of Soccer, Net ball, Badminton, Volley ball, Indoor games & for all other sports development activities. |
