Pakistan HC in Kandy to watch his home team play

'No one is concerned as to who wins and who loses as one long as played in the game. What matter most is that our two countries have further strengthened their ties due to instances like these series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka and women are the best ambassadors of their countries', said the President of the Women's Cricket Association of Sri Lanka, Gwen Herat commenting on these current series.

'I would like to see Pakistan playing in the Women's World Cup 2005 in South Africa and hope they will make it possible in the mini World Cup in Holland next year and qualify. They have a fine team with newcomers who have displayed great potential, especially the 'baby' of the team who is being nurtured closely by their captain, Shaiza Khan.

The forth one-day international will be played tomorrow (Sunday) at the Asgiriya International Stadium, organised by the Municipal Sports Committee on behalf of the WCASL. The series is sponsored by Singer Sri Lanka, Lanka Tiles Limited and United Motors.

There is tremendous enthusiasm in the hill capital and large crowds are expected being Sunday. The chief guest is the Mayor of Kandy, Harendranath Dunuwilla, who was the Vice President of the Board of Control for Cricket in Sri Lanka.

The High Commissioner for Pakistan, Mr. Ashroff Kuresh will grace the match and attend a dinner in the evening hosted by the Honorary Councillor, Mr. Afsel Ahamed Marrikkar to both teams and officials.

The girls will have a day out on the 26th and return to Colombo on the 28th. They will play at Moors SC Grounds onthe 29th and Moratuwa SC Grounds on the 30th before they return to Pakistan on 31st January.
