A special discussion held between the leadership of the Mahajana Eksath Peramuna (MEP) and the Politburo of the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna had centred on the topic of defeating the conspiracy hatched by the United National Front regime and the LTTE to divide the country.

The two parties had also discussed the prime importance of informing the masses about these conspiracies and how to mobilise the support of all civil organisations and progressive fronts to safeguard the territorial integrity of the motherland.
