HNB introduces biggest Current Account rewards scheme The Hatton National Bank (HNB) has initiated the biggest ever Current Account rewards scheme to be initiated in Sri Lanka. Deputy General Manager, Marketing and Development of HNB, Chandula Abeywickrema said the bank's campaign highlights the importance of Current Accounts drawing attention to the young executive and the traditional businessman dealing in cash. "The concept of current accounts is one of the most under used banking instruments in Sri Lanka with the public not being fully aware of its full potential as a modern day business tool .The lack of interest is attributed to the lack of awareness and the general perception that a current account is not an investment tool," Mr. Abeywickrema said. The bank will introduce this rewards scheme taking the lead in promoting current accounts and creating awareness in popularising current accounts as an investment tool. The bank has launched a rewards scheme of Rs.19 million which includes a luxury Volvo car worth over Rs.4 million to popularise the concept of chequing accounts, the bank said in a press release. |
