Supporters join hands in walk

Several U.N.P. supporters were wounded, some of them serious by, as a result of clashes that occurred in Kurunegala, Wariyapola, Nikaweratiya, Hiriyala and Mawathagama electorates.

Several candidates were also wounded said the Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Johnston Fernando at Mawathagama ground recently.

More than four thousand supporters joined hands and walked with minister Johnston Fernando to the Samodaya ground.

We obtained more than hundred seats in Parliament. Now we set up a stable government and will solve the main problems within a short period. The people have a great confidence in Ranil Wickremesinghe as he always respects and honours democratic ideas.

He said that the J.V.P. is the propaganda machine of the P.A. as there are no supporters for the P.A. to carry out their political campaigns.

The Deputy Minister of Environment and Natural Resources, Indika Bandaranayake said now our prime minister can set up a decent society and solve the unemployment problem of the country and provide new avenues of employment for the youth.

The Kurunegala district member of Parliament Anura Gopallawa and several others spoke.
