Early action to develop Rambukkana

by Kegalle special correspondent

Kegalle district member of Parliament Champika Premadasa accorded a rousing welcome at Rambukkana town last week.

He said that as an MP for Kegalle district he will take every possible step to develop the Rambukkana town to that of a modern city. He said that Rambukkana area has been neglected for quite a number of years and that he would take early action to develop the Rambukkana constituency with a view to uplifting the living conditions of the masses in the locality.

Champika Premadasa hopes to work for the benefit of those who voted for him to triumph in the last general election, and also those who voted against him, equally well. The MP said that those who voted against him have acted democratically in keeping up with the traditions of democracy, and that they have done a correct thing in increasing their votes as they please and that we all must unitedly strive to keep these democratic traditions alive for ever.

He said, the thuggery attempted by various elements both in the previous two general elections should be forgotten and treat all in a friendly manner, and get the co-operation of all to develop our area in all aspects so that everyone of us would be benefited in solving the problems confronted by us.

The MP emphasised that his aim is to start a number of new ventures in Rambukkana area so that a lot of employment opportunities would be created for the youths who are without employment today.

The MP persuaded all his supporters to be in friendly terms with all who opposed him, so that there will be peace everywhere at all times. He stressed that only in a peaceful atmosphere a programme of development can be implemented.
