Russian Federation felicitates Ranil

Mikhail Kasyanov, Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation said in a felicitation message to Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe that the traditional friendly relations between Russia and Sri Lanka will be further developed in the interests of strengthening peace and stability of Asia.

The message said:

"Please accept my sincere felicitations on the occasion of Your appointment as Prime Minister of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.

I am confident that traditional friendly relations between our two countries which are marked with the spirit of mutual understanding and aspiration for cooperation will be further developed for the benefit of the peoples of Russia and Sri Lanka and in the interests of strengthening peace and stability in Asia.

Please accept my wishes of good health, well-being and success to You and peace and prosperity to the people of Sri Lanka."
