PM leaves for India tomorrow by Ariyaratna Ganegoda Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe will leave for India tomorrow, on his first official visit since assuming office. During his three-day stay in New Delhi, the Premier will seek India's support for a peace process aimed at reaching a political settlement through negotiation. Mr. Wickremesinghe will hold talks with his Indian counterpart Atal Behari Vajpayee, Defence Minister George Fernandesz and External Affairs Minister Jaswant Singh. Foreign Minister Tyronne Fernando and Economic Reforms and Science and Technology Minister Milinda Moragoda will accompany the Prime Minister. The Premier is also due to meet the Indian business community in a bid to attract more investors, sources in the PM's office said. Indian President K. Narayanan, Opposition Leader Sonia Gandhi and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jeyaram Jayalalitha will also hold talks with Mr. Wickremesinghe. |
